Your business isn’t the problem — this is

This week, sitting down to complete my Monday scorecard, something really stood out.
Not a big dramatic change.
Just small numbers… telling a very different story.
Since taking full ownership of our retail businesses, I’ve made one thing non-negotiable:
Every Monday, I sit down and track:
Turnover.
Margins.
Staff wages.
Simple.
But powerful.
Because what it’s given me isn’t just information — it’s clarity.
And clarity changes how you operate.
Decisions are quicker.
Problems are spotted earlier.
Conversations become more direct.
There’s no guessing.
No “I think we’re doing okay”.
Just facts.
We’ve also put stronger systems in place around the team — clearer expectations, better communication, more accountability.
Not complicated changes.
But consistent ones.
And that’s what most business owners underestimate.
They think growth comes from doing more.
More marketing.
More ideas.
More effort.
But often what’s needed is:
better visibility and tighter control over what’s already there.
Because when you can see your numbers clearly, everything else becomes easier.
You stop reacting.
You start leading.
And the business begins to feel calmer — even if it’s still busy.
If you’re reading this and thinking “that’s exactly where I am” — busy, but not fully in control — you’re not alone.
This is the kind of work I’ve been doing more of behind the scenes lately. Helping female business owners move from running hard… to running properly.
If that’s something you’d like support with, just reply and tell me a little about your business.
Speak soon,
Cherie
