You didn’t start your business to feel like this!

When you read this, I’ll be getting ready to head to the very first group coaching session of 2026 — and honestly, I’m so excited.

Session 1 is always one of my favourites.

Not because it’s flashy or complicated…
but because it brings us right back to the beginning.

We start with Why.

And it’s amazing how quickly we lose sight of it.

In the day-to-day running of a business — the emails, the clients, the admin, the constant decision-making — our original reasons for starting can quietly slip into the background. We move into doing, rather than remembering why we’re doing it in the first place.

A new year always feels like the right time to pause and reconnect with that.

Why did you start your business?
And just as importantly — why are you still in business?

For some women, it was freedom.
For others, flexibility around family.
For some, it was control, security, creativity, or finally being paid what they’re worth.

And for many… it’s changed over time.

That doesn’t mean you’ve failed.
It means you’ve grown.

But when your Why gets lost, the business can start to feel heavy. You push through weeks without checking in with yourself, wondering why motivation dips or why things that once excited you now feel draining.

Reconnecting with your Why doesn’t require a grand gesture.
It just needs a moment of honesty.

So here’s a gentle question for you today:

👉 Why did you start your business — and what’s keeping you in it now?

I’d genuinely love to hear your reasons.
