Why switching off makes you more productive

Hopefully, when you receive this I’m still enjoying my beauty sleep — and not rushing about for the school run (how am I still doing school runs after 20 years?!).

September weekend is here, and I’m ready to take full advantage of a few days away from the laptop. 🙌

It is so tempting to just squeeze in a few extra hours of work — especially if, like me, you genuinely love what you do. But it’s equally important to take time off, switch off all the noise and distractions, and just relax.

One of our sessions in the Group Coaching Programme recently was all about Time, and it really hit home.

The concept isn’t complicated — we all know, deep down, how much time we waste on things that aren’t important. But when you actually stop, map out your weeks and your days, and focus on the tasks that really matter, something shifts.

Suddenly you’re more productive, more organised — and guess what? That means you can actually take more time off. Because the important things are done, and the not-so-important things can be outsourced.

It’s a reminder that:
👉 Time is the only thing we can’t buy more of.
👉 So we must use it wisely.

I hope you’re enjoying some downtime this weekend to rest and reset.

It won’t be all rest for me, though — on Sunday I’ll be heading down to Birmingham for the Entrepreneur Circle’s big annual convention. Two full days of ideas, inspiration, and (no doubt) a very packed agenda. I can’t wait to see what I bring back from it!

Whatever you’re doing this September weekend, enjoy it. 💜

Cherie
