Why I’m pressing pause until September

This morning I’m heading to my final in-person group coaching session, and I genuinely can’t believe the eight weeks are already over.
It feels like we were only just starting.
This is the first time I’ve run both an AM and PM group on the same day, and I’ll admit I wasn’t entirely sure how it would feel at the beginning. But once again it has been an amazing group of women, with such a diverse mix of businesses and experiences, and I have thoroughly enjoyed every week with them.
There’s something quite special about getting to spend time in a room with other female business owners.
Running a business can sometimes feel like a lonely place. You’re making decisions, carrying responsibility, and often figuring things out as you go. So having a space where women can share experiences, learn together, and support each other really does make a difference.
I know I will genuinely miss my Tuesdays.
With that said, I won’t be running another group coaching programme until September now. I had originally hoped to run another one before the summer, but since taking full ownership of our retail businesses and focusing on implementing systems and expanding operations there, I’ve had to pivot some of my plans.
And that’s the thing about business — and life in general.
Things change.
Sometimes by choice.
Sometimes completely unexpectedly.
But what separates successful business owners from the rest isn’t whether change happens — because it always will — it’s how we respond to it.
You can let setbacks or changes knock you completely off track.
Or you can pause, reassess, pivot, and create a new plan.
Often those pivots end up leading somewhere even better than the original plan.
So today is a bittersweet one — the final session of a fantastic eight weeks with a brilliant group of women.
And then it’s on to the next chapter.
With my focus shifting more into the retail businesses this year, I’m also being very intentional about the coaching work I do.
Rather than running another group before autumn, I’ll only be working with a small number of established business owners privately until then.
The women I tend to work best with already have a good business — clients, revenue and momentum — but the structure behind it still needs strengthening.
Often their diary is full but the numbers lack clarity.
The business is busy, but it still relies too heavily on them.
The work I enjoy most is helping install the systems, discipline and accountability that turn a busy business into a well-run one.
If that sounds like the stage you’re at, reply with the word:
SYSTEMS
…and tell me a little about your business.
If not, stay on the list — there’s always more to come.
Speak soon,
Cherie
