The reason your weeks feel frantic — and how to fix it

I don’t know about you, but I am more than ready for a few days off.

It’s been a packed week — and even more so with the final round of application calls for the group coaching programme that starts next week. And honestly? What a brilliant group we have coming together. Women from different industries, different stages of business, but all with the same desire to build something that works for them. I’m really excited to get started.

This week also saw our first Glasgow Women’s Growth Collective 2026 meeting — my exclusive membership for 1-1 clients and group coaching graduates. It felt so good to be back in a room together after the madness of the festive season.

We spent time planning the year ahead — not in an overwhelming way, but in a calm, intentional one.

The key thing we worked on was reverse-engineering our diaries.

Instead of planning week by week and constantly reacting to what lands in front of us, we started with the big picture:
important dates, time off, life commitments, goals — and then worked backwards into months, and finally weeks.

Because when your weekly activity is driven by what you want to achieve across the year, rather than what’s shouting loudest that week, everything feels more controlled and far less frantic.

If you want to get the most from the year ahead, here are three simple steps you can take:

1️⃣ Get everything important into the diary first
That includes holidays, family time, school dates, industry events, seasonal moments in your business — and time off. If it’s not in the diary, it gets overridden.

2️⃣ Decide what success looks like for the year
What figures do you want to hit? What do you want your business to give you this year — time, income, flexibility, calm? Then break those yearly goals into monthly and weekly targets.

3️⃣ Let your weeks serve the bigger plan
Your weekly actions should be aligned with where you want to be by the end of the year — not just reacting to emails, messages, and last-minute demands.

Before I finish, I just want to say a genuine thank you to everyone who applied for the group coaching programme and took the time to come along to the application calls. I truly appreciate you sharing your businesses and your stories with me. Even when the timing isn’t right, those conversations matter.

And if now isn’t the right moment for group coaching, all is not lost.
