✨ From Disco Toilets to Business Goals: What a Trip to EC HQ Reminded Me.

Pictures from the new EC HQ
Last week I walked into the brand new Entrepreneur Circle HQ and was blown away.
Not just by the high ceilings or beautiful decor (though those were fab), but by something even more unexpected…
Disco toilets.
Yes, actual disco lights flashing and music playing while you wash your hands.
It was brilliant—fun, bold, completely unexpected. And if I’m honest? It's going in the idea file for my next home renovation!
But here’s the thing...
That HQ didn’t happen by accident.
It wasn’t luck.
It wasn’t “maybe one day if everything lines up.”
It was vision + numbers + a plan.
Nigel (that’s Nigel Botterill, EC founder) decided what he wanted.
He did the maths on what it would take.
Then he made his business work to fund the dream.
That’s how real business leaders think.
And if you’re running a business and still don’t know:
What it costs you to get a customer
How much each customer is worth
Or what numbers you actually need to hit your dream life
…then you’re not building a business.
You’re just busy.
If that hit a nerve — good. Let’s talk.
📅 Book a call with me and let’s sort your numbers out once and for all.
🌴 The Other Thing Nigel and I Have in Common… Holidays.
There’s something else Nigel and I both love (besides business and big spreadsheets):
Holidays.
Now, he’s miles ahead of me in this department.
Multiple holidays every year, full stops, full breaks, total switch-offs.
And while I still have a bit to go — I’m getting better at it and now having our holiday home in the Lake District is making it much easier to take that time out.
Because here’s the truth no one tells busy women in business:
🚫 Not taking holidays isn’t a badge of honour.
It’s a red flag.
If you’re too busy to step away, or too broke to afford a proper break…
Then your business isn’t working for you — you’re working for it.
But when you do take time off?
You think better.
You come back sharper.
And the ideas? Ohhh, they flow like a river.
So here’s your challenge from me:
🗓️ Pick a date. Set a goal. Book the damn thing.
Not just “someday”. A real holiday. In the calendar. Non-negotiable.
Then build your business around making that happen.
You'll thank yourself.
You'll do it again.
And your business will grow because of it — not in spite of it.
