Behind the Christmas lights, this is how many business owners feel.

Well… everywhere you go now, Christmas is certainly in full swing.
Even I’ve done most of my shopping, written my Christmas cards — and yes, I finally gave in and sorted the tree this weekend too. I could take it no more! 🎄
But while the Christmas movies, adverts and social media all paint this glossy picture of festive joy, I’m very aware that this time of year can feel really difficult for a lot of people — and business owners in particular.
You might be reflecting on a tough year.
Wondering where the money is going to come from for Christmas nights out, staff bonuses, kids’ presents…
Or just running so hard to keep the business afloat that there’s barely any space left to enjoy the run-up to Christmas at all.
If that’s you, please know you’re not alone.
Three things to help make the next few weeks feel a little lighter:
1️⃣ Focus on what truly matters — and let go of the rest.
Not everything needs to be perfect. Choose the few things that matter most to you and your family and give yourself permission to drop the rest.
2️⃣ Be honest with yourself about capacity.
December isn’t the time to push harder just because it’s expected. Protect your energy — tired decisions cost more than slow ones.
3️⃣ Take a moment to look ahead, not just back.
Even if this year hasn’t gone the way you hoped, it doesn’t define what comes next. A short pause to reflect and reset can change everything.
And if things are feeling a bit heavy, my inbox is always open. Sometimes just saying it out loud helps more than we realise.
As we head toward a new year, I’m quietly getting ready for the January Group Coaching Programme — a room full of like-minded female business owners with a growth mindset, putting systems and structure in place so 2026 doesn’t become a repeat of every year before it.
No pressure. Just an option if you’re ready for things to feel different. Just reply ‘Group’ and we will send you full details.
For now, be gentle with yourself over the coming weeks.
You’ve done more than you probably give yourself credit for.
Have a great week!
Speak soon,
Cherie
