- A little reminder that your best years in business might still be ahead.
A little reminder that your best years in business might still be ahead.

It has been non-stop recently — between clients, group sessions, and what feels like a monthly commute to EC HQ Birmingham — and somewhere along the way, I slipped out of my usual habit of reading a book a week.
So when I took myself off to our holiday home for some much-needed solo downtime, I packed a good book with me. Something easy, something inspiring, and something to ease me back into reading again.
I chose “Still Bobbi” by Bobbi Brown — and let me tell you, Bobbi Brown makeup was my absolute go-to in the 90s!
What I didn’t realise was that in her late 30s, she sold her entire company and stayed on essentially as an employee… with a 25-year non-compete clause.
Her thinking at the time?
“It’s fine — I won’t be working when I’m 60.”
Well… fast forward. Long story short (and I won’t spoil the book for you), after a fall-out with the new board, she found herself out of a job — and now at 60, she absolutely couldn’t imagine not working.
Not building.
Not creating.
Not growing something she’s passionate about.
She’s in good company — her grandfather “unretired” himself at 80!
Reading her story was an incredible reminder that:
👉 You are never too old.
👉 It is never too late.
👉 And now might be the very best time to put your dreams first.
Whether you’re 30, 40, 50, or 60+, there is always the possibility of something new, something exciting, or something deeply fulfilling.
The chapter you think you’ve “missed” might actually be the one you’re supposed to write next.
So if you’ve been feeling like time is getting away from you…
Or wondering if your big dream is still possible…
Or questioning whether you’ve left it too late…
Go grab a copy of the book.
And remind yourself: you’re right on time.
Have a lovely weekend — and if you want a bit of reassurance, a sounding board, or some guidance on what your next chapter could look like…
my inbox is always open. 💛
Have a great weekend.
Speak soon,
Cherie
