A little reminder about what really drives sales

This weekend, I had a long-overdue catch-up with my “Mother and Toddler” friends — although our children are all now in their 20s, we still proudly call ourselves that! 😂
We went along to the Citizens Theatre to see Small Acts of Love, with music written by Ricky Ross of Deacon Blue. It was absolutely amazing — if not a little emotional!
Because it was the matinee show, we went for dinner afterward, and what really struck me was just how busy all the restaurants and bars were in town.
Every day we’re surrounded by talk of doom and gloom about the economy — how no one has any money, how people are cutting back.
Yet here we were, on a Saturday afternoon, and every table was full.
A night out isn’t cheap these days either — and unlike the pre-Covid era where you could sit at your table all night, restaurants now have timed bookings. Two hours and you’re out, ready for the next group to come in.
And still… people were out spending.
It’s a good reminder that, no matter what’s happening in the economy, people will always spend money when they perceive the value to be high enough.
That’s the key.
If what you’re offering feels meaningful, desirable, or essential to your customer — they’ll find a way to buy it.
So the real question is:
👉 Are you making sure that your customers see the value in what you offer?
Because the money is out there. You just have to show them why it should be spent with you.

Cherie
