A little later than usual — here’s why...
A few days later than usual — but for a very good reason…
Last week, I had the absolute pleasure of travelling down to an Entrepreneur’s Circle event featuring Steven Bartlett — and not only that, I got to take one of my sons with me.
We went for dinner the night before, had hours together in the car, talked about everything from Spotify playlists to business goals… and if you’ve got older kids (or multiple kids), you’ll know what a rare thing that kind of one-on-one time is. Once they hit a certain age, spending more than 10 minutes with you becomes a big ask!
It really made me reflect…
As challenging as it can be at times, one of the biggest gifts of running a family business is that my children get to be part of it.
Several of them have worked in the business, some more actively than others, and it’s not just about teaching them to work hard — it’s about giving them access to experiences, environments, and mindsets that can completely shift their view of the world.
Being able to take them to events like this, where they get to listen to leaders like Steven Bartlett and Nigel Botterill… it’s something money truly can’t buy.
And in a world where young people are finding it harder than ever to get jobs or gain meaningful experience, it’s a comfort to know that our business can also provide them with skills, income, and confidence they wouldn’t get anywhere else.
So I’m curious…
👉 Do your children work in your business?
👉 Was that one of your reasons for starting it?
👉 Have you had any of those “wow, this is what it’s all about” moments lately?
I know we don’t always stop to reflect — especially when you’re in the middle of the juggle — but sometimes we need the reminder that what we’re building matters.
Your business isn’t just about sales, systems or Instagram grids.
It’s also about the legacy, the connection, and the freedom it can give your family — now and in the future.
PS: The event itself was phenomenal. Steven Bartlett was sharp, generous and inspiring, and Nigel’s morning session was classic EC brilliance — packed with practical takeaways I’ll be sharing in the next newsletter.
So watch this space!
